Welcome to the party...
Observing the sun while I get ready for the evening.
look what this guy made!! He even ground the primary mirror by hand.
Sunspots are clearly visible.
Closer in on the sunspots
In this picture is Sagittarius. On the horizon, just above the vehicles, the smudges are the open cluster M7 or Ptolemy's cluster (on the left) and M6 or the Butterfly Cluster (on the right) click HERE to see what else is in the field of view. The homes of some of the most beautiful objects viewable in a telescope are in this field of view...M16 the Eagle Nebula, M17 the Omega Nebula, M20 the Trifid Nebula, M8 the Lagoon...and others.
Aquila, the Eagle...soaring through the Milky Way
M45, the Pleiades
NGC 7331, if I'd had this galaxy slightly higher in the field of view, I would have had Stephan's Quintet (a cluster of 5 dim galaxies)...however fuzzy...in the picture.
yet another Mars picture...
