" I set a course just east of Lyra
And northwest of Pegasus
Flew into the light of Deneb
Sailed across the Milky Way
On my ship, the "Rocinante"
Wheeling through the galaxies,
Headed for the heart of Cygnus
Headlong into mystery"

Cygnus X-1...A Farewell to Kings, 1977

A weak cold front passed through in the afternoon and by 5:00pm it was obviously going to be a great night to observe. I started to set up around 9:00pm and the mosquitos were irritating. There was a low 1st quarter moon that was going to be gone by just past midnight, then it was just me and the sky. My efforts were spoiled somewhat when my photolab developed my film on a new machine. But it was still a great night. Many of the images I took just aren't presentable...but here are some that worked out.
